From enquiry to installation, Tat Jing’s masterful craftsmen delivers the best granite and marble customisations – according to your needs. They make it seem easy, but the process requires experienced and skilled professionals – like Tat Jing’s craftsmen – to bring your ideas to reality. Here’s a quick run-through of how Tat Jing does it.
Enquiry and Measurement
Upon receiving your enquiries, either through phone or via e-mail, Tat Jing’s craftsmen heads down to your space and discusses your ideas in detail. They then give you expert opinion on how to best implement your ideas, and takes the necessary measurements to do so. The measurement process is crucial and difficult to master, as any error at this stage would affect the subsequent stages. Thankfully, Tat Jing’s craftsmen have decades of experience under their belts, and are able to complete the measurements smoothly and accurately.
Planning and Cutting
With the measurements and templates taken, Tat Jing’s craftsmen are ready to plan and cut the granite and marble slabs. Slabs of Star Galaxies, Crema Marfils and Carrara Marbles are already ready for cutting at Tat Jing’s holding areas, and craftsmen carefully extract these slabs using heavily-customised forklists for the job.
Meanwhile, the template is fed into a computer program for the CNC bridge saw to cut the granite and marble according to specifications. The machine is difficult to master, and considerable skill is needed to input the template into a format that is readable by the CNC bridge saw. The bridge saw’s powerful diamond-tipped edge cuts through the granite, and a continuous stream of water prevents the saw from turning red-hot, or even melting!
This process takes up to a day, and must be supervised by one of Tat Jing’s experienced craftsmen.
With the cutting completed, Tat Jing’s craftsmen brings the cut granite and marble to your space, and begins the installation process. While much of the hard work is already done, the installation process still requires skill to prevent damage to the finished product. It takes technique to fluidly heave a 100kg slab of stone up to your chest level!
Tat Jing’s craftsmen then reviews the finished product and its fit to the furnishings, before gluing and polishing the surfaces. After that, it’s another job well done!
